Biography
Mahboobeh Khanbaghi grew up in the heydays of Tehran when art and handcraft were remarkably flourishing throughout the city. From her childhood, she was a gifted painter, drawing figures on tiles and parchments. Initially, encouraged by her mother’s enthusiasm for her artistic skills, she painted and drew profusely up to her late adolescence.
Following her father's steps, who in the sixties was stationed by Iran’s Ministry of Culture in Beirut, she was promted to study literature at the American University of Beirut. She returned to Tehran to pursue her BA and MA before completing her PhD at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis after she immigrated to France.
She spent several years researching and teaching literature in Canada, France and Iran, until the sight of one her childhood paintings on a tile reignited her desire to start painting again. Once her work was exhibited, she was embraced by the creative community of Vancouver and was invited to join the Canadian Artists Society in British Columbia. Mahboobeh retuned to France to pursue her passion in the arts and was accepted by the prestigious school of fine arts (Beaux Arts 06000 ). Under the supervision of seasoned and accomplished artists, Mahboobeh was able to further harness her skills and take her paintings to a significantly higher level. Mahboobeh's works have appeared in magazines, and she’s a published scholar.
Specializing in classical tradition, and figurative art, Mahboobeh has displayed her masterpieces at national and international exhibitions since 2000. Her paintings capture the spirit of a moment and relay them to a canvas.
Mahboobeh believes that the success of a painter lies in their ability to inspire their audience by connecting them to their work.
Mahboobeh Khanbaghi continues to contribute to the world of art in France and USA. She is a member of the Landscape society of Nice (l’Association des Paysagistes Niçois), and the Pacific Art League in California.
